Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your data when you use CleanNoise (https://www.cleannoise.app). We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal text.

Your files

When you clean or enhance an audio or video file with CleanNoise, the file is uploaded to our processing service so the AI can produce your cleaned result. Your file is used only to produce that result, is never reviewed by a person, is not shared with anyone else, and is automatically deleted within 48 hours. We do not sell, share, or use your files to train third-party models. The free preview and the paid full-length download use the same processing.

One exception: the extract audio from video tool decodes your file entirely in your browser and does not upload it.

Account and billing information

If you subscribe to CleanNoise Pro, we (or our payment processor) collect the information necessary to create your account and process payment, such as your email address and billing details. Payment card details are handled directly by our payment processor and are never stored on our own servers.

If you are signed in when you clean a file, we keep a record of that order in your account so you can find it later: the file name, date, length, price or credit used, and status. These records are kept for as long as you have an account. The files themselves are still deleted within 48 hours; the record does not contain your audio or video.

Analytics

We use analytics to understand how people use CleanNoise (for example, which pages are visited, which tools are popular, and where people get stuck) so we can improve it. Analytics never receives the contents of your audio or video files.

• Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and basic visit information (such as country, device type, and referring site) in aggregate. It does not use cookies.
• Microsoft Clarity records how you interact with our pages (such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement) and produces heatmaps and session replays, along with device and browser information. Text you type into form fields is masked by default, and payment details entered with our payment processor are never visible to it. Clarity data is collected and processed by Microsoft; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement for how Microsoft uses this data.

We also keep our own usage records of each file processed: when it was processed, which page it came from, its length, and whether it went on to be purchased. We use them to measure how CleanNoise is used, to understand our costs, and to enforce the daily limit on free previews. These records contain no file contents or file names (a file name is kept only if you start a purchase). Your IP address is never stored as-is: we keep only a one-way hash that changes every day, so it can't be used to follow you from one day to the next.

Cookies

CleanNoise uses a small number of cookies or local-storage entries for essential functionality, such as remembering your theme preference (light/dark) and keeping you signed in if you have an account. When you run a free preview, we also set a random first-party identifier (cn_vid). It contains no personal information and lets us connect a preview to a later purchase in the usage records described above.

Microsoft Clarity also sets cookies (such as _clck and _clsk) to recognize repeat visits and group page views into a session, and Microsoft may set its own cookie (such as MUID) that it uses across Microsoft services. Where consent is required, such as for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, Clarity does not set these cookies without it. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; CleanNoise will keep working without them, except that you may need to sign in again.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with service providers who help us run CleanNoise (such as hosting, payment processing, or server-side processing for Pro features), bound by their own confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

Your choices

Uploaded files are deleted automatically within 48 hours, so there is normally nothing left for us to hold. If you have an account and want your account, order records or billing data deleted, contact us and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

CleanNoise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
